own it! the 90's are back

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
k kids, we aren't the scrunchie wearing tots we used to be. YEAH we were alive when the first doc marten obsession struck, but now is the time to revel in all 90's glory because the styles of the time period are baaaaack!

+CROP TOPS
+FLORAL
+PLATFORM SHOES

My latest DIY: cut your ordinary white tee for some crop top fun ;) & wearing it isn't too hard if your stomach isn't at its best, layer it over a funky dress like this ad from Free People!

Mmm Mmm.

It's hotter then a pot of mama's Jambalaya and...
Washington state broke an all new temperature record reaching 103 degrees today.

God knows how many cold bath's I've taken while listening to Zero 7, Air or Pinback.

Almost makes me wish I could go snowboarding right now.
I won't deny it. It's a passion that I love.

Sorry for not updating more often. I made the big move out to Seattle from Bellevue and it was fully worth it.
As usual my time is spent working, making art, making music and going to school.

Hopefully soon the band will have some more solid recordings I can post about.

tumblr

I made a tumblr! I've been using mine as a new medium for sporadic personal note-taking. Instead of just letting pictures and quotes sit around in my macbook's inspiration folder, I've been putting up some of my favorites :-) Especially my in-progress DIY projects that I want to attempt/are attempting.

I want to "rasterbate" a wall with this picture/similar provocative image.

I need to get my hands on a pair of these old school Doc Martens.

I want to learn how to DJ. Some of my guy friends DJ parties & clubs, but I want them to teach me too!!!

I gotta see this movie once it comes out!

So randomly AMAZING! I must do this to a pair of tights ASAP

My eyes. I need to experiment more shape & color-wise with my eye-shadow... but the good old smokey eye always does wonders, especially with a fabulous pair of faux lashes! I did my friend Lauren's face & eye-make up tonight and she loved it. She was even offering to give me money/make me food in exchange for make-up lessons... she's so cute, love her!

this picture is completely candid, there's a funny story to go behind it: I walked into a party & was taking off my flannel shirt, & I am bombarded by flashes… some girl was snapping shots of me with her Nikon.. hahahah.. she walked up to me later & showed me this shot. Maybe a few weeks later, I ran into her at a party & she told me to add her on FB to see the pictures she took. She put this up the other night!

Well, catch ya over there maybe? I've kind of been avoiding shopping lately because even though I have a job & all that, I have to put my deposit down for next year's house. I'm living in  3 story, 8 person house with 6 other girls & 1 boy. Everyone is really laid-back and fun, I can't wait! Especially since rent is going to be a good $100+ less than my current rent. My house right now is a block away from campus and my room has a walk-in closet & own balcony.. but ah! Does it really kill my wallet since I'm completely independent from my parents.

I hid beneath the balcony because I love you...

Nixon NOW

This Company has so much style and design that it makes my heart jump every time I visit their website or look at my wrist.
For the last 4 months (beginning in March) on the 15th of each month, Nixon has released a limited edition rubber version of one of their most popular watches: The Player.

Starting on March they released a brilliant electric blue. Following in April fire-truck red. Succession in May a clover green. The final color in June a banana yellow.

I am a proud owner of the Green Player and receive numerous comments on it daily. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't notice someone looking at this ingenious rubber watch.

The price tag is 170$ but is completely worth every single cent.

If you aren't willing to shell out the scrilla I would suggest getting the Nixon Time Teller P. This watch is only 55$ and looks great. I'm infatuated with the bright blue.
It's offered in several colors, some are exact color matches to
the player.

Admittedly, my mixes are always quite eclectic, oh well - maybe you'll find something you'll like. I'm obsessed with every single track! :-)

Sasquatch! 2009

Overall, I've gained a killer tan, some virgin experiences (1st time at the gorge, a special cookie, etc), amongst bruises that will fade... a fonder appreciation for some incredible bands I was fortunate enough to see.

Personal Favorites:

Saturday:
-Yeah Yeah Yeah's have so much incredible energy! The Lead Singer was so crazy onstage, I instantly loved her!
-Bon Iver (Pronounced Bonny-Ver - ver like air with a v)... I always thought his stuff was kind of boring to listen to, but there's just something about his voice in person, some kind of sensitivity his voice possesses that comes alive on stage. "Skinny Love" nearly brought me to tears (gah I am so pathetic), but ah I was just grooving to it.
-Crystal Castles... I thought that they weren't going to be that great in person to be honest, but within the dance tent encaptured me into some kind of dark realm where the music shook me up just as much as the moshing crowd did on the outside. On the album, Alice Glass's voice seems too shrieky but it seems to remain kind of at a boring level. However, live - her voice really emphasized the words with the right loudness and length. Super energetic, so great.
-Passion Pit - unfortunately I was absolutely devastated during this set that I left (for some personal reasons) but let me add that my favorite song by them is "I've Got Your Number"... give it a listen!

Sunday:
-Nine Inch Nails - basically front row, but more second row because people were in my way.. I didn't mind. I was really surprised by the lead singer's versatility. He has a really great voice and is super passionate.
-The Murder City Devils, well the lead singer was very outspoken! Adding to a rocking time, he had some interesting on-stage theatrics (i.e. - kissing male bandmates, saying the music he put on was only for faggots, throwing stuff around)... kept his set really interactive and fun.
-Of Montreal - I wish so badly I had seen more of their set but I didn't leave NIN early enough to get to the Wookie stage. Anyways, they were dressed up in crazy outfits and had a crazy video playing in the background. They made me laugh, I danced, I want to see them again.
-DeadMau5 was really fun, I got tossed around by the crowd though.. definitely makes you want to thrash around to the upbeat music. I hadn't listened to his music before, but I will now if I want to stay up and get energized.

Monday (My FAVORITE day):
-Girltalk.. I saw him at capital hill block party and i wasn't that impressed. but then again, i was absolutely wasted that day.. however, his sasquatch set was so fun! He had people dancing on stage and I was front row and grooving the entire time.
-Chromeo - dj set... the singer wasn't singing live like he was at the capital hill block party but I didn't mind, they kept the set interesting and mixed in so many songs and fun techno beats, I never ever once got bored.

These two sets within two hours of each other made me the happiest girl! I left George, WA floating on a cloud.

hm doesn't look quite so bad in pictures, but it's quite a beaut of a battle scar from battling it to the front row of practically all my favorite artists at Sasquatch 2009.

Turn Me On

I dig boys that smell good. It's just a fact, or personal turn-on in my case....

In my book, besides a number of other "desirability" factors.. smelling delicious is incredibly attractive. Mind you, I naturally have a really sensitive sense of smell - but what really (literally!!!) gets my pulse going are these two.... whenever I come across guys that wear either of these scents, I know immediately mmmm! ;-)

Another thing to keep in mind is that regardless of whether or not these specific colognes fit your personality - personal scent is a key way to enhance your own style (& turn on some ladies haha)

This is Love.

I love this girl and that's that.
Her brown eyes.
The way her headband covers her face.
Her poofed up hair from the headband.
The accenting metal clasp on the headband.
'

I wish I knew her so I could spit some game at her and take her out on a date.

T and A

It's not about the tits and ass. It's about Terence and Alexia.

I bid you all on a thirsty thursday and a rambunctious night.

Adieu.

The Perfect Party Dress

One of my biggest vices is buying & wearing "The Perfect Party Dress":

You know the deal, strutting into a big party is awesome when you know you look good. My ideal party dress is form fitting and shows a lot of leg. I'm pretty low maintenance in that I don't really like to slave over what I'm going to wear, I just wanna throw something on with a pair of heels and dash out... leaves more time for flirting with strangers, cocktails and dancing the night into oblivion.

I'll share of my latest favorites with you :)

1) The Cut-Out Dress by Sophomore

&

2) Sweetheart Two-Toned Mini Dress by American Apparel

Ceaseless.

I am ceaseless to work. I never stop. I never stop. I never stop. There's always something to do. Something to do always. To always do something. Ramblings and rumblings with deterring grimaces and glances. It's a vicious warping cycle and we are victims to the whirl.

pop 9

Recently... my life in pictures:
because "I don't get homesick... I get love-sick"
pop 9 picture of my ex co-worker Santiago's hands before he got fired. I asked him why? He said "because I don't get homesick... I get love-sick."

dandelion
thought it would make a good picture... blowing a dandelion with my childhood friend Jasmine at Golden Gardens

kelly mason
Kelly @ Golden Gardens, I love what a surprise taking film pictures can be

fantasia

I get drunk and smoke too many cigarettes... too often. When I pull out my Nat Sherman Fantasia cigarettes, they get likened to crayons.

I used a pop 9 camera in all the pictures I took posted above... it's fun to bust out at parties, everybody always wants you to take a picture of them, especially with the flashy gold exterior. The flash is necessary, but it's a good one... kind of annoying because you have to turn it on when you wanna take a picture and let it load up.

me at the beach

New bikini from american apparel for a perfect fit for all the tiny girls in the world whose bottoms often are sized too big and result in a saggy butt... love it. I got the top in coral ice and black bottoms. The picture was taken in San Francisco at Ocean City Beach... the coloring of the swimsuit top is kind of off because of the colorsplash camera.. it's far more neon bright in person.

Give Me Give Me.

I wish I had the money to purchase all the little accessories, clothes, cars, electronics, musical instruments to my hearts desire.
But it can't be that way have to work for it first.

Alas the latest obsession to pass through my mind.

They'll be out for us.

It's been a stressful week and I haven't been able to post as much as I would like to. I'm sure Lex is in the same boat as me.
I was sorting out some change at a Safeway grocery store and the girl who always would give me my bills in exchange for coins told me:

"You need to find a balance in life and when you find that balance stay as close to it as possible. If what you're doing makes you happy and content. Stay close to it."

Phoenix

There's those timeless moments that go by and you realize it's just another chapter of your life coming to a close and another one beginning. As seasons change you wish to hold onto the old and cherish its wonderful moments. The breathtaking laughter, sidesplitting squeals, snorting noses and the aching abs. They were wonderful. But they're gone.

I say let go and move on.

Extended thoughts

I was taking a shower and decided to plug my ears.
As the pressurized beaded water hit my head:
The insensible noises I heard
The thoughts that ran rampant.
The visions and memories that took me.

I came to one conclusion.

Loneliness.

Nothing more, nothing less.

You can say I'm crazy, a pessimist, depressed, loony, deranged and not of the right mind.
But that's what I came to.

Am I lonely? No I am not.
Are you?

Perhaps.

think about it

“Open letter to the youth of our nation:

Young people of America, awake from your slumber of indolence and harken to the call of the future! Do you realize that you are rapidly becoming a doomed generation? Do you realize that the fate of the world and of generations to come rests on your shoulders? …Oh ignorant youth, the world is not a joyous place. The time has come to dispense with the frivolous pleasures of childhood and get down to the honest toil until you are sixty-five. Then and only then can you relax and collect your social security and live happily until your death.

Signed fearfully and disgustingly,
John J. Righteous Hypocrite

Bumbershoot 2009

Bumbershoot 2009 is looking up to have a great folk art design as usual.
The chosen graphic artist has quite an interesting background. Of course he hails from Washington but surprisingly from the eastern side.
Warren Dykeman has a retro coldwar style of design. He grew up near the Hanford Nuclear Reservation located in Kennewick.

Let's hope we get a good festival this year with musical artists to match such great art.

Different Design Always

A beautiful website with intricate interior design concepts that are riddled with simple and unique ideas of what could be in our future households.

My personal favorite:
A bedroom in a box concept.

Everything you need is in a box. If I knew the actual dimensions I would cite them but it is not listed.

The intent isn't to simply regale you with sordid tales of nights satiated with illicit substances, that's just typical. & this isn't just about some wet hot summer to remember, though I'm already dreaming up a storm of plans to execute for the Summer of Love `09. I may be impulsive as I am adventurous, but I'm a dreamer who makes things happen. Come along for the ride.

Dedicated to the young and reckless who don't give a fuck; this is about massaging my perpetual hard-on for life with the constant pursuit of new thrills & being madly in love with incredibly passionate people who seem to ooze charisma from their pores...

Inspiration

Operation Mindfuck:

It is most often manifested as a decentralized campaign of civil disobedience, activism, art movements, especially performance art and guerrilla art, culture jamming, graffiti and other vandalism, practical jokes, hoaxes, reality hacking, chaos magic, words of power, trolling and anything else that is believed to bring about social change through disrupting paradigms and thus forcing the victim to question the parameters of one's reality tunnel.
